WHAT WE DO
Helping vulnerable children to access Education.
In Tanzania primary and secondary school education was made free to allow all children to access education in the country something which lead to increase an enrollment, However many children are still unable to attend schools regularly due to a number of factors such as lack of transport access especially in the rural areas and other economic factors like the cost of school supplies like exercise books, shoes, uniforms, text books, pencils and pen.
Due to the above reasons, we have decided to fund raise for the purpose of buying bicycles which will be provided to vulnerable students from the poor families who live far from the schools so that they can have sustainable means of transport from home to the schools. Also we are fundraising for the uniforms, shoes, books and other schools necessities. Apart from fundraising we are also connecting these vulnerable students with various people, schools and organizations that can support them in their education so that they can achieve their goals and dreams.
Helping marginalized individuals and groups to create small scale business plans.
Business plan is a document used for planning out specific details about a business, the primary purpose of a business plan is to define what the business is or what it intends to be over time. It clarify the purpose and direction of the business, it allows the business owner to understand what need to be done to ensure the success of the business.
It also help to know the business concept, market, competation, operation, marketing stratagies, design, management and financial information.
Most of the small scale business owners do not have the skills and knowledge about the business plan, the just establish their small business without any knowledge about the business plan and business in general, so they just end up having loss and finally their business dead because they do not know how to operate their business, they do not know who are their market, how are their competitors.
We are helping these groups of individuals to create business plans so that they can succeed in their small scale established businesses which allow the to earn money for food, pay for children schools fees, and also pay for health services.
Training and seminars
We provide training and seminars to small scale business owners and other community change agents, this include training on budgeting, marketing, business plan and life skills development.
Economic Empowerment
Most of the small scale business owners do not access loan or credit from the big financial institutions like commercial Banks because they do not have collateral security like land or other unmovable proparty like house, due to this reason we advice these small scale business owners to form groups so that they can access credit from microfinance instituitions which give credits to small groups.
But also we advice individuals to develop their own small savings so that they can have their own sustainable sources of capital and start their small business. We advice people to join VICOBA (Village Community Bank) which can be simple way of accessing small loans.
Economic empowerment allow poor people to think beyond immediate daily survival and to exercise greater control over both their resources and life choices, it enables households to make their own decisions around making investments in education, and taking risks in order to increase their income. Also economic empowerment can strengthen vulnerable groups’ participation in the decision-making. For example, microfinance programmes have been used to bolster women’s influence within the household and marketplace. Economic empowerment increase social status or decision-making power, finally economic empowerment of women is a key strategy in addressing gender inequality.
We also link small business owners with Microfinance institutions, Microfinance refers to financial services for those without access to traditional formal banking. It includes micro-credit, micro-savings, insurance and money transfer services. Microfinance interventions have been a way of empowering people to invest in their futures and lift themselves out of poverty.
